Afternoon run we ran to Shriner's and back. It was nice because it was a lot cooler this week.

I'm not sure if we really did 7 miles? The warm up was at least 2 miles, 3.1 mile race, and a cool down.

I also did not look at my watch until a little while after I finished so I'm not sure what my time was.  It was 24:something.

It was my first race in spikes and I liked them during the race. The course was sort of tough but I felt like I stayed strong until the 3rd k. I wish I could have kept up with Mary until the end though. My shins hurt after the race and they hurt walking around.  That doesn't sound good.

AM: 6:00 felt way early this morning. We ran to Sunnyside and did some tempo work. My shins and calves were really sore. I stretched my calves and they felt better after that, however, my shins hurt walking after the run.

Afternoon: Did one mile warm up, 2 miles of speed change, one mile cool down. Took it easy. My shins hurt after the work out walking around. Iced them.

Ran in spikes again. Wasn't so sore afterwards which was good. My race time was blah, but I'll do better next meet.

AM: 5 miles...................I don't even remember what we did? Oh yeah. Sugarhouse, hills, and back to the track. My shins hurt after the work out.

PM: Hot day. Speed work out, 1 mile warm, 1 mile speed change, built from 200 to 1000 m, adding 200 m each time with equal recovery on everything but the 1000 in which we had an 800 recovery. Went back down to 200. 1/2 mile cool down for me. My shins were killing me and I wanted to ice before work. Goodness, I was totally EXHAUSTED that night. Had to do homework when I got home. Blah. I'm too busy.

AM: I didn't attend. I'd rather stay healthy by getting some sleep than not be and feeling crappy.

PM: Today I was sore. My shins were as well as my right IT band. When I started running, the back of my right knee felt way tight and of course my shins hurt. I ran to Sugarhouse and decided to turn around because I felt sick and was hurting too badly. I do NOT want to get injured this season, especially if I get to Minnesota and can't go. I have got to take care of myself.

Murray meet. It was a relief it was cool today, however, it didn't seem to improve my time too much. My shins were, of course, sore and behind the knee on the right side was a little at the beginning. The race went alright. I'm not impressed very much with my time but hopefully on Friday I can do better. I was also very happy we didn't have to do a work out afterwards. We just did about a 2 mile cool down.

Afternoon: 1 mile warm up, 2 mile speed change, 10 strides, mile cool down.

The meet was at Cyprus today. I was glad to see it clouding over so it wasn't so hot. At the beginning of the race, I started out strong but then fell behind after about a mile (i think?). My shins hurt and I felt sick to the stomach. Afterwards I was shivering. My brother is sick so maybe I'm coming down with what he has. I feel so crappy right now. Blah.

I'm disappointed my times have been a lot slower than the first meet (i had 22.20, something around there) and my PR a few weeks before that(21:50). I can't figure out why I'm 2+ minutes slower now. Maybe it's the shins. Also I don't get a lot of rest. I feel way stressed out with xc, school, and work. Huh. Well I don't know.

1 mi warm up, 1 mi speed change, 4 one mile repeats with 400 m recovery, and mile cool down. This work out was hard! My last mile was the fastest, however, which was awesome. My shins didn't hurt at all so I am very happy about that.

1 mile warm up, 3 miles speed change, 1 mile cool down. I could feel my shins a little but they didn't hurt necessarily. I iced afterwards as a precaution.
