| I really wanted to do well in this meet. I started yesterday by eating carbs and drinking a lot of water, getting more than 9 hours of sleep, and eating and drinking a lot today too. The meet was at the golf course in Rose Park. I started fast and during my middle mile I slowed. I'm bummed that a West girl passed my during that time but no one else did which was good. The last 100 meters, Susannah and I kicked way hard. I got a PR and this was a real 5k. The course was easy but it was hot today. I wasn't hurting which is a relief. I'm very happy with my race overall. :) | Add Comment |

| The zoo run. My shins splints really hurt on the downhills and then all through the middle of the run. When the run was over, they hurt a lot so I immediately iced them. Blah. This disappoints me. | Add Comment |

It rained the whole time but the team stayed on the bus in order to stay dry. Last year I attended this race, however, I did not run it because I was injured. This morning, I wanted to get a 23 minutes or lower. I feel ok with my time (23:43) but I could have done better. Both varsity teams placed third, even though girls didn't have a full team! Strange. We got two trophies and four on the team got medels for finishing in the top 10. Before the race started and we were running to the bathrooms in the rain, my shins hurt really badly. When we were running to watch the jv races they still hurt. I took 600 ibuprofen and the warm up and race didn't have any pain. | Comments(1) |
