Planned to run during my trip to Flagstaff, however, there was a terrible blizzard.  I attempted the treadmill but the hotel's was broken. Absolutely terrible commuting from Nevada to Flagstaff. Very scary.

I got your comment. Here's what I think. Being consistant is the key to marathon training. It's not like a test at school that you can cram for in the last few minutes and still have a good out come. Try to stay steady here at first with even length runs so you get use to that, and later we will mix things up. If you have to miss a day no big deal, but don't make in a habit. Plan your day and have your workout as a must do. As the routine is accomplished from week to week it gets easier to make it a priority. If you can't go out because of time limits think of things you can do to substitute for your running through out the day. i.e. Don't find the closes parking place, park farther away and do a good paced walk or jog in. Take the stairs, some light stretching as you wait in a line.

I know this may seem funny, but if you think about what you are training for through out the day, it becomes a part of what you do. Eat healthy, rest often and have fun with it. No cramming:^)

Good week, Your dedication to doing it right will make your results rewarding. Adding mileage needs to be done slowly. Let's increase 5 more miles this week. Make sure you are eating right, resting well and hydrating. Are your legs holding up? Are you tired or full of energy? This past week was good weather for running, take advantage of the good days , but don't let yourself off the hook on the bad days.

Try to plan to have a little snack or a sports drink a little bit before your run. Sometimes this will help. I sometimes get light headed when I haven't eaten for a while and my energy level is low. Good job keep up the runs. On days you are tired just slow the pace back a little. Getting through the run and doing it is what counts.

50 minute run. Ran along the coast. While running by a harbor, I was looking at the water and thought I saw a pelican dive under. I kept looking at the spot and realized it was a dolphin :)

I did a 2 mile warm up and felt tired. During the long run, I still felt tired but half way through I felt a lot worse. After having to find a bathroom in a jiffy, I felt even more weary. I had a very slow pace and had to stop and rest several times. By the end of the run, I felt naseated. I planned on doing a 2 mile cool down (so I'd have 15 miles today) but felt too crappy but drank fluids fast, ate a little something, and took a nap instead.

Took about 2 hours and 40 minutes including stopping for water and powerade. I ran on woodchips so I didn't feel much pain at all. I'm happy I finished this time, however, I walked a bit.

Everyone should do a marathon! They are amazing. First half was a piece of cake, started passing tons of people in the middle, and worked really hard for the last 3 miles with the help of Bill (I wanted to kill him but I'm very appreciative of what he did!).  Gorgeous course, awesome people, simply amazing! My goal was 4:40 but I got almost 20 minutes faster. My average mile was 9:58 :)  My legs started cramping around mile 20 but I just kept running.  The number one girl in my age division got about 3:58 and the second place girl got 4:12 (I think). We are all 18 years old.
